Santos on Track for First Gas from Barossa Project in 2025 ⚓️

Australia’s Santos is preparing to deliver first gas from its Barossa offshore project by 2025. The FPSO BW Offshore Opal vessel, set to be deployed in early 2025, will operate 300 km off Darwin’s coast.

Project Highlights:

◾ FPSO BW Opal: Can process up to 900 million cubic feet of gas per day.

Investment: A $600 million investment is advancing the project, now nearing 80% completion.

◾Joint Venture: Involves Santos Ltd (50%), SK E&S (32.5%), and JERA Co., Inc. (12.5%).

The project extends Darwin LNG’s life by 20 years, with gas production expected in the third quarter of 2025.
