Breaking New Ground: Deepwater Titan Drillship Takes Offshore Exploration to New Depths! 🌊
AJ Ross, a Chevron wells manager passionate about restoring classic cars, has recently tackled one of the most challenging projects of his career: bringing the state-of-the-art Deepwater Titan drillship into operation.
This first-of-its-kind drillship, owned by Transocean, can drill as deep as 40,000 feet and handle pressures up to 20,000 psi.
Key Highlights:
⚫ Deepwater Titan is designed to withstand 25% more pressure than any other vessel in Transocean’s fleet and can drill deeper than any drillship before it.
⚫ Built in Singapore, this massive 93,500-metric-tonne drillship was designed to drill in Chevron’s Anchor Field in the U.S. Gulf of Mexico, reaching reservoirs more than six miles below the surface.
âš« The drillship’s advanced features make it ideal for tackling the Gulf of Mexico’s challenging deepwater oil reserves, where many easier-to-access reservoirs have already been developed.
