Director-Founder of the Pipe Integrity Analysis Group, National Polytechnic Institute

Dr. Jorge Luis González Velázquez is a metallurgical engineer and master of science with a specialty in Metallurgical Engineering, graduated from the School of Chemical Engineering and Extractive Industries (ESIQIE), of the National Polytechnic Institute. He completed his doctoral studies at the University of Connecticut. E.U.A.

Due to his outstanding scientific and academic career, Dr. González was awarded the Presencia Lázaro Cárdenas in the professor-researcher category in 2007. Also in 2007 he received the Outstanding Alumnus Award, by The University of Connecticut and was elected to the Academy of Distinguished Engineers Hall of Fame of that same university in 2008.

As founder and director of the Pipelines Integrity Analysis Group (GAID), he has worked on 106 specific agreements for an amount exceeding 1,100 MDP with PEMEX. Generating high impact contributions, which have helped maintain the safety and operation of this strategic industry for Mexico.
