Mr. Eduardo Núñez is the managing partner and head of the Energy and Regulatory Law practice for Núñez Rodríguez Abogados, S.C., a Mexican Law firm, incorporated and established in Mexico since 2009. He mainly specializes in O&G and Infrastructure projects,public works and procurement, as well as administrative and Constitutional legal topics. He is also experienced on Mexican anti-bribery law, international trade law and customs law.
After 7 years of legal activities as chief of staff of PEMEX’s General Counsel (1995-2002), since 2002, he has been advising international and domestic companies in regard to E&P Service Contracts, EPC projects, capital assets, equipment supply and O&G Offshore projects. Some of the main legal topics that were analyzed in such projects were: Liabilities and indemnities, penalties, rescission and termination, mediation and arbitration. Currently, he is well-known as an expert in the Mexican E&P contracts and Pemex’s contracting regime.
He has been coordinator of the Energy Committee of the National Association of Business Lawyers, Bar Association and Co-Chairman of the Anti-Corruption Committee of the US Mexican Bar Association. Currently he is Vice Chairman of Energy Committee of International Chamber of Commerce, Mexico chapter. Mr. Nuñez is an active member of the Association of International Petroleum Negotiators and the Institute for Energy Law.
He has received his law degree from Universidad Anahuac School of Law, Mexico (1989) and completed his Public Administration Master studies in 1997. In 2001 he received his LL.M. degree on International and Comparative Law from George Washington University Law School, USA.
He has been professor of law since 1997, lecturing international trade law, administrative law and energy law at Universidad Anahuac and ITAM.
