Sergio Limardo is Repsol’s Exploration Mexico Country Manager since 2017. He has more than 20 years of experience in the oil and gas sector. He is in charge of managing Repsol’s the exploration activities in Mexico. Additionally, his responsibilities include supporting commercial endeavors for the Exploration Department in the region. Sergio also worked within Repsol’s Business Development Unit as Project Manager for Latin America, with the primary responsibilities of capturing new upstream opportunities. He was also in charge of commercial negotiations for the company’s E&P activities throughout the Americas.
Previously, Sergio worked for Talisman Energy and Hess Corporation in commercial positions in London and Houston, and prior to that that he worked in the E&P Legal Department of Total in Paris and Caracas. In those positions, Sergio held responsibilities for upstream business negotiations in Latin America and West Africa. He managed relations with joint venture partners and government authorities. He conducted negotiations with partners and government authorities for the commercialization of natural gas production from assets in Norway and identified new commercial opportunities to maximize gas sales. Before that, Sergio was responsible for identifying new exploration opportunities for global business negotiations department in Europe, North Africa and Latin America.
Sergio earned a Bachelor of Law (LL.B) Degree from the “Universidad Católica Andres Bello” in 1995 and Master of Laws (LL.M.) from Temple University School of Law in 1996. Subsequently, in 2010, Sergio also earned an MBA from Texas A&M Mays Business School.
