Dr. Marcos Ávalos holds a Bachelor’s degree in Economics from UNAM, a Master’s degree in Economics from CIDE and a PhD in Economics from the University of Essex. He is a specialist in competition, economic regulation and industrial organization. Among his functions in the public sector, he has been General Coordinator of Regulatory Impact Manifestations of the National Commission for Regulatory Improvement (CONAMER) and Technical Advisor regarding secondary laws on economic competition and structural reforms in the Senate of the Republic.

Dr. Marcos Ávalos has been part of the Ministry of Economy since December 2018 when he began serving as Coordinator of Advisors until April 2019, and from May 2019 to the present, Dr. Avalos serves as General Director of National Content and Promotion of the Energy Sector.

Shallow & Deepwater Mexico: Offshore oil and gas congress focused on exploration and production of hydrocarbons in shallow and deep waters in the Gulf of Mexico.
